George Gershwin was an American pianist and composer, whose compositions spanned both popular and classical genres. Known for hit songs such as “Someone to Watch Over Me”, “Embraceable You”, “Summertime”, “Fascinating Rhythm”, Our Love is Here to Stay”, “But Not For Me”, “Swanee”, and “A Foggy Day.”  Among his 18 musicals are My One And Only, Of Thee I Sing, Oh Kay!, Funny Face, and Girl Crazy. His best-known orchestral compositions include the impressive "Rhapsody in Blue" and "An American in Paris." Born in 1898, his music and talent has more than stood the test of time!
