The brilliant and prolific Broadway composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim is known for his complex musical compositions and unconventional subject matter. His numerous awards and nominations include eight Tony Awards, an Academy Award, eight Grammy Awards, an Olivier Award, a Pulitzer Prize, a Kennedy Center Honor, and a Presidential Medal of Freedom.
