Writing for both stage and screen, Johnny Mercer was among the most prolific and influential composers and lyricists of the 20th century. A four-time Academy Award winner for Best Song and co-founder of Capitol Records, his legacy spans Hollywood, Broadway, jazz, and blues—leaving an indelible mark on American music. Moon River – The Songs of Johnny Mercer is a richly evocative 60–90-minute concert experience that pays tribute to Mercer’s extraordinary body of work. Critically acclaimed and beautifully curated, the show weaves together some of his most beloved and enduring songs, including Blues in the Night, Laura, Satin Doll, Tangerine, Skylark, That Old Black Magic, Come Rain or Come Shine, and—of course—the immortal Moon River. Enhancing the intimacy and sophistication of the performance is acclaimed jazz pianist Phil Hinton, whose expressive keyboard work brings depth, warmth, and swing to these classic melodies.
